Privacy

This page covers kerfandcode.com only. Last updated October 1, 2026.

This site collects very little. Here is all of it, and how to turn off what you can.

Analytics

Every page on kerfandcode.com loads Google Analytics 4. It records which pages are visited, how visitors arrived (the referring site), and the browser, device type, and approximate location that Google derives from your IP address. It sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) so repeat visits can be counted. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. I use the reports to see which pages people read.

To opt out, block cookies for this site in your browser, use a tracker blocker, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.

The free tools

Verdict, Instrument, Ledger, and Kiln run entirely in your browser. The numbers and text you type into them are not sent to this site or to anyone else. Ledger saves your evidence counts in your browser's local storage so they survive a refresh; the Clear button on that page deletes them. Google Analytics still records that you visited a tool page, but not what you typed.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel receives your IP address and basic request details (the page requested, the time, your browser) when it serves a page.

The contact form

The contact form sends your name, email address, topic, and message to me by email, using Resend as the sending service. I keep your message so I can reply. It isn't added to a mailing list or shared.

The products

Six Axes, Litmus, Shyll, and QuestSolo run on their own sites, and each has its own privacy policy there. This page doesn't cover them.

Questions

Use the contact form. I read everything myself.
