Kiln · Maker drops

Will my drop actually sell?

Before you cut, print, cast, or sew a single unit: run a landing page, collect interest, and let Kiln turn those signals into a projected paid conversion — with an honest interval, not a hopeful point estimate. Fold in what a unit costs and what you'll charge, and get a go / no-go on the production run.

1. Your smoke test

Put up a "get notified / reserve yours" page and drive some traffic to it. Then enter what happened.

2. The production run

The economics, worst to best case

ScenarioBuyersUnits soldProfit

Units sold is capped at your run size — you can't sell what you didn't make. Profit = revenue − full production cost of the run.

Why "24 emails" isn't "24 sales"

Interest is not money. Kiln discounts signals by how likely they are to convert to a real payment, then treats your smoke test as a small sample — because it is — and carries that uncertainty all the way to the profit line. The result is a range of outcomes and a decision rule, not a single seductive number that gets a garage full of unsold inventory made. The projection is a Beta-Binomial posterior on paid conversion. See the self-tests.
